What do your loved ones want and need? It is crucial they are happy in their new home so take the time to understand their needs. They may require specialist care if they suffer from dementia for example.

Each care home in England is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and can only provide the care that they are registered to provide.

Check List

1. Ask your loved ones about their wants and needs
2. Discuss any specialist care needs with their Doctor or NHS Nurse
3. Explore the possibilities of finding care support in their own home
4. If a care home is needed, look for one that matches your loved ones’ needs
5. Speak to a selection of care homes about their care provision
